SWP Systems Owner and Chief Strategist

Virgil K. Spurlock is a business strategist and skilled negotiator with over thirty-three years of experience in leadership, strategic planning, project management, crisis management, business continuity, and systems engineering.  He has a track record of forging corporate strategic partnerships to drive long-term business growth. Mr. Spurlock is a results-oriented leader and program manager who consistently surpasses objectives by building and motivating high performing operations and technical teams. He has a proven ability to solve complex strategic, operational and technical problems and has extensive experience within the public and private sectors, including but not limited to an international commercial corporation and the U.S. Army.

A 20-year Army veteran, Mr. Spurlock spent eight years as a commander, six in special operations units. When he retired in 1998, he was selected by Astrolink International, a joint venture startup valued at $3.6 billion, to develop and lead their global operations. He served at various times as the System Engineer, IT Director, and the Executive Director Network Operations. Mr. Spurlock later joined Arion Systems Inc as the Vice President for Special Programs and served there until his decision to form SWP Systems.

Mr. Spurlock earned a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering, a Master of Science in Electrical Engineering, a Master of Science in National Security Strategy, and a Master of Arts in Pastoral Studies. He has received the Engineer-in-Training (EIT) professional designation by the National Council of Examiners for Engineering and Surveying (NCEES).
